Usando tecnologias avançadas de manufatura aditiva, está a desenvolver um lançador menos complexo e mais barato. A Força Aérea Americana autorizou-os a utilizar o espaço de Cabo Canaveral para iniciar os testes deste novo foguetão, que promete tornar o espaço mais acessível.
BEEVERYCREATIVE is involved in another space project for the European Space Agency
International Consortium (OHB, BEEVERYCREATIVE, Sonaca Space, and Athlone – Institute of Technology in the Republic of Ireland) awarded ESA contract for the “development of a 3D printer prototype for the ISS, capable of producing large parts, using high strength and functional thermoplastics” – Project IMPERIAL
Back in May 2018, project MELT: Manufacturing of Experimental Layer Technology, was successfully delivered the European Space Agency as a fully functional 3D printer prototype, able to work under the ISS’s (International Space Station) microgravity conditions and 3D print with engineering polymers with high end mechanical and thermal properties. This project was the first space project BEEVERYCREATIVE was involved in and it was developed by an international consortium which included SONACA Space, BEEVERYCREATIVE, OHB-System and Active Space Technologies. In September 2018, project MELT won the TCT Aerospace Application Award, one of the most prestigious awards in 3D Printing.
On this new project called “IMPERIAL” and with OHB System AG as the consortium leader, BEEVERYCREATIVE is once again working with an international consortium on a new project for ESA. Project Imperial’s goal is to design, development and test of a fully functioning 3D printer model meeting the requirements for additive layer manufacturing on-board ISS, using engineering thermoplastics and alleviating build volume constraints. In order to demonstrate the functionality of the 3D printer, several functional parts need to be selected, printed and tested. The printed parts shall demonstrate the capability of in-space manufacturing to enable new maintenance and life support strategies for human space flight.
